A change of profession.
Please excuse the lack of information, criticism, or generally interesting material here. This is just for fans and friends.
I'm not thinking of becoming a mechanic, but I am considering changing my professional offerings.
I'm referring to web design services. While I love to do it, I can't reasonably do it independently on top of everything else, time wise. It takes too much of an investment and ends up hurting the client due to the time they have to wait for production.
I'm not necessarily looking to eliminate it all together - of course, I'll still be doing it through my day job, and for my own websites and whatnot.. but until I can find more time to devote to it, it'll be taking a spot in the back of the office.
I'm planning on shifting my focus to branding design, to be honest. It is something that I can easily do in quick, short bursts, with a respectable turnaround time. As well, I will spend less time educating the client and selling myself on such services as I would with web design (trying to convince people to avoid flash based content designs is getting tiresome, let alone telling them that they need hosting, a domain name, and more to have a website). While I don't get the luxury of regular visits from the client for maintenance/update services, branding design will allow me to devote more time to other projects, such as my artwork and music. I have a day job to sustain me, so I can afford to be picky about what I do and who I do it for.
Once I finish up the work for one last client, The Brick Oven (of Hannibal, Missouri), I will officially stop offering web design services and focus on consulting on that end.
